The Good News

((Have to start with the bad news in order to appreciate the Good!))

The God who forms babies in their mother's womb and who created the entire Universe desires a relationship with you and me. However, the Bible says that we are all sinners and that our sin separates us from God (Isaiah 59:2, Romans 3:23). Sin not only causes our physical bodies to decay, but if we die in our sinfulness, the Bible says that we will be in a punishment of hellfire forever (Mark 9:42-44, Revelation 14:9-11).

Thankfully, God showed His great love for us by not leaving us in our sinful state (Romans 5:8). Rather, He demonstrated just how great His love is for us by sending His only Son, Jesus Christ, to take the punishment of our sin and to reconcile us to God (1 John 2:2)! Jesus died a sacrificial and brutal death on the cross for you and for me, and now sits at the right hand of God in heaven interceding on our behalf (Romans 8:34).

So what do we do with this knowledge?

We have two choices. We can either shrug off our sinful state and try to ignore our conscience that testifies to our sinfulness, or we can humble ourselves under the weight of our sin and cry out for a Savior!

When we humble ourselves and come to the Lord with a broken and repentant heart, He will never turn us away (Psalm 51:17)!

Humble yourself before God, repent of your sin, and make Him Lord of your life! You will never be the same.
